Welcome to our latest spotlight story from RE:IMAGINEATL, where we delve into Jae who at only 16 years old, Jae already carries the spirit of a lifelong artist. They decided at the age of eleven that they would be a writer—and they’ve never looked back. Whether it’s with a pen in hand or a camera in motion, Jae is constantly searching for the stories hidden in everyday life, determined to bring them into the light.
Discovering Stories Everywhere
For Jae, inspiration isn’t limited to one place. It’s found in the smallest details of daily life, the overlooked moments, and the questions no one else thought to ask.
“Everything inspires me in many ways. When you start looking at life from a different perspective you start to see stories that you never noticed before. Just keep finding your own answers to questions no one ever thought to ask.”
This curiosity and sharp eye for perspective make Jae’s work deeply imaginative, layered, and resonant.
RE:IMAGINE and the Power of Community
Through RE:IMAGINE’s NOCO 2025 program, Jae discovered the value of collaboration and community in their creative journey.
“Greatness thrives in community. When you can find people you rely on, the world begins to open up for you.”
For Jae, the chance to connect with other creatives has been just as valuable as sharpening their craft. The friendships, support, and encouragement they’ve found through RE:IMAGINE have opened doors to new possibilities and new confidence.
Building Confidence and Finding Voice
Even though Jae is still an emerging professional, they’re already making strides as a filmmaker and writer. RE:IMAGINE gave them the opportunity to meet mentors, collaborate with peers, and realize that their passion has real-world potential.
“RE:IMAGINE has introduced me to so many creatives and community. I was able to make meaningful connections.”
With every story they tell, Jae grows more assured that their creativity is not just a passion—it’s a purpose.

Words to Their Younger Self
Jae’s advice is as bold as it is heartfelt:
“Just trust yourself—you’re more capable than you think. Never make yourself smaller to be more palatable. You’re not weird, you’re passionate. And having a purpose is something some people search an entire lifetime for.”
It’s a reminder that embracing one’s authentic self is the key to unlocking true creative freedom.
Looking Ahead
In the next five years, Jae envisions a future overflowing with possibility.
“I’ll be 21, hopefully I will have just graduated from an arts college with a degree in film, and maybe an internship at a production company. I will have published my first book trilogy and hopefully still be making short films with my friends.”
Ambitious yet grounded, Jae is setting out to prove that it’s possible to dream big and build a future where writing and filmmaking are not just hobbies but a life’s work.
