Thank you for checking out our spotlight story from RE:IMAGINEATL! Today we’ll explore the driven mind of Syeara Dunlap, a driven entrepreneur and thought leader. Even though they are only 24, Dunlap hosts a consistent podcast and works as the Operations Coordinator for RE:IMAGINEATL where she organizes all of the rentals/gear checkouts, day-to-day tasks with the Executive Director, and some logistical planning in programming for the RE:IMAGINE production company.
From Howard University to RE:IMAGINE’s No Comment Film Fellowship
Dunlap first got involved with RE:IMAGINEATL back in 2016. “I started off in photography and graphic design as the team built the foundation of the NOCO platform.” Dunlap has always kept their head to the ground and got distant from RE:IMAGINEATL to pursue their bachelor’s at Howard University. Staying on the cutting edge, Dunlap rejoined in 2024 for the No Comment Film Fellowship powered by Warner Media Discovery.
“My biggest takeaway was that I encountered a team where I felt seen. Through my experiences with RE:IMAGINE I have found people that have challenged me, not just professionally, but also emotionally to grow within new spaces and opportunities.”
A Day in the Life of Dunlap – Founder, Producer, & Studio Manager
Dunlap is a multi-faceted professional and serial entrepreneur who wears multiple hats. As the Founder and Producer of their multiple platforms like The Philosophy of Chillin’, DA BUKET LIST LLC and Honest Light, LLC. “I also work part-time as a Manager at Resonant Studios and as an Operations Coordinator for RE:IMAGINE.” Taking on additional contracts as a Producer, Assistant Director, Photographer, or Videographer means that every day is different.
“The main skill I utilize within any role is active listening. From there, I aim to assess when I would need to apply technical skills in capturing a moment on camera or utilizing soft skills to organize and keep professionals operating at an efficient level.”
Breaking into the Big Time
Dunlap shares how the education, community, and partnerships at RE:IMAGINEATL has opened doors for her “…by exposing how my natural skillsets are beneficial within the film and entertainment industry.” Over the past 9 years, Dunlap has been able to connect with diverse professionals who have helped her understand how to leverage her style of leadership. Dunlap’s training at RE:IMAGINEATL has allowed her to build her portfolio, access platforms and equipment, and pursue productive and safe environments for creatives in the film and entertainment industry here in Atlanta.

Words of Wisdom
When we asked Dunlap for advice she says, “I don’t like to give advice because feedback can always be misconstrued.” However, Dunlap shares what she is learning. “It is ok to be vulnerable and transparent in one’s communication even within a professional space.” Dunlap wants you to know that while the job must get done, you have to be in an environment where the team trusts you to communicate. “Find a team that makes you feel welcome to be transparent and communicate, even if that team starts with yourself.”
Looking Ahead
Dunlap shares that she doesn’t clearly know where they’ll be in the next 5 years. “That growth is not solely dependent on me, so in 5 years I hope I am in a place where my businesses are financially supporting themselves.” Dunlap is currently content in the work they’re doing and could have never imagined herself enjoying what she does so much!
Next Steps
What’s next for this true Atlanta hustler? She’s following the light and energy she sees in others. If nothing else: Dunlap will continue pursuing her love for storytelling and her pure passion for discovering how to continue aiding others.
